1. Tindaya

An example of both nature at its wildest and the rich history and culture of the region. This majestic natural monument in the form of a cone-shaped mountain rises 400 metres above the arid landscape of the island, and boasts impressive views. However, its importance not only lies in its natural beauty. For ancient inhabitants of the area, Tindaya was a sacred place. In fact, the mountain is covered in rock carvings of incalculable archaeological value.

2. La isla de Lobos

A genuine volcanic treasure that offers a unique experience combining tranquillity, beauty and adventure. Its name derives from the large colony of sea lions that once inhabited the island. Today, the island is a protected wildlife reserve, home to a wide variety of endemic bird and plant life.

3. Puerto del Rosario

The capital of Fuerteventura has much to offer visitors and is an essential stop on any tour of the island. Make sure not to miss the Church of Our Lady of Rosario (constructed in the 19th century), the house of the famous Spanish write Miguel de Unamuno, the sculpture park or La Alcogida eco-museum, to name just a few examples.

4. Morro Jable

Originally, the town was a small, picturesque fishing village. Today, however, it’s one of the island’s most popular holiday destinations. You can also visit Jandía Natural Park, relax on Matorral beach or browse the town’s many shops and restaurants.

What to see in 4 days on Fuerteventura?

If you don’t have much time to explore the island, don’t worry. Read on to find out what to see in 4 days on Fuerteventura. Take note!

  • On day 1, start out in the town of Corralejo where you can explore the Corralejo Dunes Natural Park. The beautiful desert landscape of the Park is ideal to soak up stunning scenery or take part in water-sports such as surfing or windsurfing. From Corralejo you also have the opportunity to take a ferry to the mysterious Isla de Lobos.
  • Day 2 is a good time to head inland. In this area you’ll find gems such as Betancuria, one of the oldest towns on the island and former capital of Fuerteventura. The Church of Santa María and the Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum are highly recommended.
  • Make the most of your third and fourth days to discover the charming south of Fuerteventura. One of the most emblematic sites in this area comes in the form of a beach. Sotavento, Mal Nombre and El Cofete are just some of the region’s stunning beaches. A fantastic goldenseal for your visit to the island.
